Short Breaks

Getting away from it all is something everyone enjoys.  We support people to get away for a break from one night to two weeks both here in the UK or abroad.

People living with their family members particularly enjoy the opportunity to spend some time away from home, this gives their family a break from their caring responsibilities (respite), as well as giving them an opportunity to spend some time doing something they enjoy and not having to rely on family to support them with this.

We are able to offer the people we support short breaks from as little as one night in our caravan at Sundrum Castle, Ayr.  This is a great location for exploring all round the Ayrshire coast and Burns country with a swimming pool, crazy golf and entertainment on site every night in the social club and restaurant, it is a great place to get away from it all.

Several of the people we support prefer to stay a bit closer to home and for this reason they can access our community house in the East End of Glasgow for an overnight stay with their support staff, this is a good base for getting around Glasgow generally and not too far away from home and the places people know.

Other opportunities for people have been arranged over the years with small groups of people meeting up and going on holiday abroad together with some staff support.  Trips to Blackpool are always popular for people and we have small groups of people who have specific interests such as travelling to football matches south of the border and then spending some time in the host city.  Not to mention our theatre goers who also like to travel around to see their favourite shows.  There are also the more laid back amongst us who enjoy nothing more than a relaxing spa break with weekends in various hotels offering spa facilities dotted all round the country.

Our staff will work with you to create the short break that is right for you as part of planning your support.  We will help you organise and cost out the various components of a short break including accommodation and staff support costs.

Contact us to discuss your individual requirements and we will be happy to help.
